Four Day Camp 2020

Horse camp on Mackinac Island offers an atmosphere for campers to develop their horseback riding skills and refine their horsemanship knowledge, while making new friends in a team based environment. Camp is located at the Mackinac Community Equestrian Center, providing campers a superior experience. We structure camps and programs around team building so that campers have the opportunity to build confidence, trust, and new friendships with their fellow campers. Our camp is staffed with knowledgeable horsemen and horsewomen, providing a safe environment for our campers. The horses we utilize for are also well qualified for camp use.

We ask that all campers bring a swim suit, have long pants for riding, and pack a lunch. Helmets and boots will be available, if needed. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

Camps are tailored to current participants. Some examples of topics include:

• Back to Basics – A focus on Equine Horsemanship and Groundwork
• Equitation and Fundamentals of riding
• Paint – A – Pony: campers learn parts of the horse and then must identify them on their pony
• Parts of English and Western Tack
• Horse Safety
• Equine Health and Nutrition
• Equine Biomechanics: workbooks and crafts
• Costume Contest
• Horse Games, relay races, and more!

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to hold your spot on the roster, the remaining balance is due at day of check in.
