Roles Open for the 2025 Season:

For the Barn Manager and Trainer positions, on-property housing is included and the option to bring your horse is highly encouraged. While this is seasonal work, the barn manager is expected to be on-island from beginning of May to mid/end of October. These positions are physically demanding, but are designed for the person hoping to gain experience professional in the horse industry, or those wanting to take a summer to enjoy everything Mackinac Island has to offer while working around their first loves - horses!

Barn Manager

 This position is filled for the 2025 season through August. 

We will be looking for someone for September and October. 

 

Role Requirements: 

Managing horse care and performing daily tasks including cleaning stalls and paddocks, overseeing nutrition plans for all horses on property, overseeing employees, building feed and chore schedules, performing first-aid for horses, overseeing farrier and vet care, working closely with our grain and hay providers as well as our clients. 

Please note that this job is a labor-intensive job, and you are expected to have a strong knowledge of horse care.

Assistant Trainer

Please note this position has been filled through August of 2025.

We will be looking to fill the Trainer position for September and October.

 

Role Requirements: 

Teaching lower-level lessons, assisting in teaching our upper-level lessons, overseeing the training of our school horses. teaching in our camps, and coaching in our on-property shows. 

This is a fantastic role for someone interested in the horse industry, or entering the journey of becoming a professional. 

Interships

Internships are available for anyone, but specifically college students who are looking to fill their summer requirments. Outside equestrian knowledge is encouraged, but not required.
