Dr. Jeff LaHuis DVM

Sault Animal Hospital

Dr. Jeff LaHuis graduated from Michigan State University in 1995 with a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine and a B.S. in Animal Science. Since graduation he has practiced medicine around the state. Dr. LaHuis is the current owner of Sault Animal Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie. Before purchasing the clinic, he was employed at a large 9 vet hospital in Battle Creek, Michigan. There he honed his skills at surgery and diagnostic ultrasound.
Dr. LaHuis is also a solider in the US Army Reserve Veterinary Corps. Recently, he has returned from a one year tour of duty to the Kuwait theater. There he was in command of a veterinary team responsible for food safety and care of military working dogs.

Tracy Mohnke

Tribute Equine Nutrition

Tracy Mohnke is an Equine Specialist with Tribute Equine Nutrition. Tracy has worked with top Nutritionists in the Equine Nutrition industry for over 18 years. She specializes in analyzing feeding programs and making recommendations for specific horses as well as large equine operations. Tracy has been involved in the equine industry her entire life and enjoys competing in all around events with her American Paint Horses. Her passion is helping other horse owners achieve their goals by assisting them with their nutrition programs.

Bill Brown

Chase Lake Equine Center

June 26-June 28

Bill Brown is a renowned horse trainer who is best known for his psychological approach to the horse-and-human relationship. Bill is the founder of the Young Horse Development Program which explores the art of persuading horses to want to do their job and enjoy it at the same time. Many of the graduates from his program have gone on to win at National and International levels. ​Bill also coaches Equine Assisted Training workshops which combine classroom learning and experiential engagement with the horse. Bill prides himself on the work he does for both humans and horses, stating: “My years of training have led to discovering the common learning similarities in both people and horses. . I’ve trained horses and their owners to learn to communicate with each other and to recognize the benefits of using the horse’s emotions as a teaching tool.”
