2022 Spring Wildflower Group Ride

We are pleased to be offering the Wildflower Group Ride across Mackinac Island! Come relax on the island with us and ride over 70+ miles of beautiful trails lined with wildflowers.

We will explore the history of the island, beautiful rock formations, wildflowers in full bloom, and the serene shoreline.

Retreat to an island paradise on the Great Lakes! 

Friday

Check in to the Mackinac Community Equestrian Center, take a horse drawn taxi downtown and enjoy a relaxing evening on the island or join us for an optional guided trail ride.

Saturday

Learn about the history of Mackinac Island and join us for a ride to Fort Holmes, Rifle Range, Fort Mackinac, and through the bluffs. Then join us for an afternoon ride and visit the island’s unique treasures such as Arch Rock, Skull Cave, and Sugar Loaf Rock. Wildflowers will line all the trails and give serene color to our rides.

Sunday

Join us for a morning trail ride through Soldier's Garden, Tranquil Bluff, and Juniper Trails.

Sunday Evening

You are invited to a banquet style cookout at the barn on Sunday evening. Fun, food, friends, and horses! 

Monday

Come to the stable and prepare for your departure to the mainland.

Host Facility Fees

 

Full Participation - Bring your Horse

$475.00 Includes a 3 nights all-inclusive overnight lodging for your horse, ferry transportation for your horse, 4 guided trail rides, use of a host facility bike, Saturday and Sunday lunch, and admission for 1 person to a banquet-style cookout at the barn on Sunday evening. Guests will need to make their own hotel accommodations, transportation needs for themselves, others in their party and their luggage.

  • Stall or run-in or turnout will be available for your horse

  •  Hay & Grain available    

  • Access to freshwater 24/7

  • Stall bedding

  • Use of wash rack

  • Space for storing tack

  • Use of round pen & Arena for warmup

  • Guided Tour of Facility and Horses Through History Museum by Request

  • Trail Guide Map with over 70+ miles of trails

Traveling with Your Horse Documents

Owners MUST provide the following before they can unload their horses onto Mackinac Island:

  • A negative Coggins that is current

  • Proof of Rabies vaccination (within 1 year of arrival)

  • Proof of EVH-1 vaccination (within 1 year but no sooner than 30 days before arrival)

  • Proof of Strangles vaccination ( within 1 year of arrival or note from Veterinarian stating your horse is free from contagious disease)

  • Proof of all vaccinations

  • 30 day health certificate for out-of-state horses which must be signed by a veterinarian stating your horse is free of contagious disease

  • Waiver and Release Form

  • Stable Rules

  • Stall Reservation Form

Please email info@mackinachorses.org for more information and availability. We highly recommend that these documents be scanned and emailed to us no later than 1 week prior to arrival to the attention of the Barn Manager.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellation up to 60 days prior to the event start date results in a 50% refund, not including the $50.00 non-refundable deposit due at registration. There are no refunds for a cancellation 60 days or less before the event start date.
