2020 ORGANIZED RIDE & COOKOUTS

ACROSS MACKINAC ISLAND

We are pleased to be offering an organized ride across Mackinac Island in 2020! Come relax on island with us and ride over 60+ miles of beautiful trails.

 

As featured on Best of America by  Horseback in 2018, we will explore the history of the island, beautiful rock formations, and serene shore line.

Retreat to island paradise on the great lakes! Discover the famous “Crack in the island” trail or ride to the unique rock formations around the island, Sugar Loaf Rock, and Arch Rock.

Organized Rides Across Mackinac Island

Wednesday

Check in to the Mackinac Community Equestrian Center, take a horse drawn taxi downtown and enjoy a relaxing evening on the island or join us for an optional guided trail ride to the backside of the island with a stop at Sunset Rock, Crack in the Island, and British Landing for a chance to walk along the shore of Lake Huron.

Thursday

Learn about the history of Mackinac Island and join us for a ride to Fort Holmes, Rifle Range, Fort Mackinac, and through the bluffs. Then join us for an afternoon ride and visit the island’s unique treasures such as Arch Rock, Skull Cave, and SugarLoaf Rock.

Thursday Evening

Join Mackinac Horsemen’s Association for our annual Member's party & home style cookout at the facility.  There will be live music, member recognition, guest speakers, silent auction/raffle, hay rides, and activities for all ages.

Friday

Join us for a morning trail ride through Soldier's Garden, Tranquil Bluff, and Juniper Trails before departing in the afternoon.

Full Participation - Bring your Horse

$250 Includes four guided trail rides exploring Mackinac's natural wonders. Off-Island Trailer Parking, Ferry assistance for your horse and yourself to and from the island, two nights of boarding for your horse & escorts to the facility, access to facility amenities, invitations to our Annual Membership party including home-style steak fry, live music, hay rides and equine seminars. Also includes bike to get around the island. Includes year of White Ribbon membership to MHA

Full Participation - with a Facility leased horse

$375 Experience Mackinac from the back of a Mackinac horse. Includes four guided trail rides exploring Mackinac's natural wonders, invitations to our home style steak fry and equine seminars, along with access to facility amenities.Includes year of White Ribbon membership to MHA

Traveling with Your Horse Documents

Owners MUST provide the following before they can unload their horses onto Mackinac Island:

  • A negative Coggins that is current

  • Proof of Rabies vaccination (within 1 year of arrival)

  • Proof of EVH-1 vaccination (within 1 year but no sooner than 30 days before arrival)

  • Proof of Strangles vaccination ( within 1 year of arrival or note from Veterinarian stating your horse is free from contagious disease)

  • Proof of all vaccinations

  • 30 day health certificate for out-of-state horses which must be signed by a veterinarian stating your horse is free of contagious disease

  • Waiver and Release Form

  • Stable Rules

  • Stall Reservation Form

Please email info@mackinachorses.org for more information and availability. We highly recommend that these documents be scanned and emailed to us no later than 1 week prior to arrival to the attention of the Manager, Ashley.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellation up to 60 days prior to the event start date results in a 50% refund, not including the $50.00 non-refundable deposit due at registration. There are no refunds for a cancellation 60 days or less before the event start date.
